World’s Hairiest Girl Celebrates Guinness Title

Supatra Sasuphan from Bangkok was previously shunned by her classmates and called her by names such as "Wolf Girl" and "Monkey Face". But now she finally has a reason to celebrate. The 11-year-old was awarded the title of "World's Hairiest Girl" by the Guinness World Records.

"I'm very happy to be in the Guinness World Records," she told the Daily Mail. "A lot of people have to do a lot to get in. All I did was answer a few questions and then they gave it to me."

Supatra says she became very popular at school following her Guinness recognition. "Being hairy makes me special," she said. "This the happiest day of my life!"

Supatra is one of just 50 known sufferers of Ambras Syndrome - caused by a faulty chromosome - to be documented since the Middle Ages. Before the disease was understood, sufferers were branded 'werewolves.' 

She has thick hair growing over her face, ears, arms, legs and back. Doctors tried to remove the hair with laser treatment when she was two-years-old but despite numerous sessions it kept growing back as thickly as before. Supatra's hair has got increasingly thicker as she has grown up so her mother has to cut it back regularly for her.

Her father hopes that someday she will be cured.

Jessica Cox suffered a rare birth defect and was born without any arms. None of the prenatal tests her mother took showed there was anything wrong with her.

And yet she was born with this rare congenital disease, but also with a great spirit. The psychology graduate can write, type, drive a car, brush her hair and talk on her phone simply using her feet.
Ms Cox, from Tuscon, Arizona, USA, is also a former dancer and double black belt in Tai Kwon-Do. She has a no-restrictions driving license, she flies planes and she can type 25 words a minute.

Two-legged miracle pig

A 10-month-old pig, weighing more than 100 kilograms, totters along unaided on its only two trotters recently in Xincai county, Henan Province.

Wang Xihai, the pig's owner said his wife wanted to let the piglet die when she saw it was born with only two legs, but he persuaded her to let it live. "She thought it was disturbing, but I stopped her, considering that it was a life anyway."


Wang then taught the pig to balance and walk on its legs by lifting it by its tail and guiding and balancing it.

He's refused large financial offers from circuses to buy it since news of "strong pig" spread.

"The pig proved it has a strong will to live and I won't sell him no matter how much money is offered," Wang said.

Rare Disease – Progeria

This unfortunate fella is only 24 years old. He is suffering from the very rare disease called Progeria. Progeria is premature aging at early age. People who was born with this disease usually die as a teens. Leon Botha is very lucky (if I can tell that concerning his condition) to be 24 years old. No one knows for how long will he live. We can only hope that he will live long enough.
